Hi BloomDiva,
My name is Malvika, a warm welcome to Bloom_demystifying_menopause😊.
I am a woman in the mid-forties living in NCR. It was my personal experience of going through perimenopause in the last couple of years, that gave me the idea to start this group.
As I started talking to other women, I realised there was little awareness to menopause, and it was still not being talked about in open. We were going through this phase without the right understanding or tools to navigate this period. The extent and variation of symptoms amazed me. Many of us went through this phase not knowing what they were going through is normal and there are others who are in this journey. That seeking the right medical advice could help ease the symptoms and there could also be simple solutions, tested and tried by others.
The biggest and most important starting point was the mindset change that was required to come to terms with this “Change” that was happening and understand that menopause is a physiological change of your whole being and you need to evolve with it to embrace yourself fully.
While we are going through this natural process, we are at a stage of life where we are also going through major changes in our external environment- empty nest, caregivers of elderly parents, separation/ divorce, etc, which leave us feeling more alone, confused, and stressed.
What started with a small community, celebrates one year in Jan 2024. Over the months we have had medical professionals discussing various aspects of women’s health: gynaecology, hormones, cardio, mental health, nutrition and its impact on dealing with menopause, yoga sessions, self-acceptance, self-care, etc through Webinars, podcasts and meets. We also have Yoga sessions which are catering to this segment and focused on increasing mobility, strength and flexibility.
It has truly become a safe trusted place where women are able to open up and talk, discuss and learn from healthcare professionals and each other! Most important we all realised we were not alone, all of us were in the same boat! This has brought about a sense of comfort that comes about by knowing you are supported…
Much Love, Malvika
